"HDBaseT ™ is a technology that transmits high-definition video, audio, Ethernet networks, control signals, and power over Category 5E or Category 6 computer network cables. The technology will be used in consumer electronics and home theater equipment, and the initial version of the specification was released in June 2010 and uses high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) signals over network cables. ”

HDBaseT is a standard for converged transmission of uncompressed, high-definition multimedia content throughout the home and in commercial environments. The core of HDBaseT is that it can use only one ordinary network cable to centralize uncompressed high-quality video, audio, network, control signals, and power supply and transmit it through a common network cable as a transmission cable, which is called 5PlayTM technology. HDBaseT 5Play™ technology can centrally transmit the following content over a 100m cable in a single 100 meters.

HDbaseT 1.0 supports transmission rates of up to 20Gbps, perfectly supports FULL 3D and 4K x 2K video formats, uses ordinary CAT5e/6 network cables for uncompressed transmission, and uses ordinary RJ45 connectors for transmission distances of up to 100 meters, in addition to Ethernet capabilities, 100W power supply capability (PoE) and other control signal channels.

1. Video
HDBaseT technology delivers full HD or stereoscopic 4K*2K ultra-high-resolution, uncompressed video data to a single or multiple devices. HDBaseT supports all the features of the HDMI 1.4 HD audio and video interface, including Electronic Program Menu (EPG), Consumer Control Channel (CEC), Extended Display Identification Data (EDID), and High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). The unique video transmission scheme ensures the high-definition image quality of the video with zero latency.

2. Audio
HDBaseT also supports all HD audio formats, including Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS HD-Master Audio.

3. Ethernet
The HDBaseT standard enables televisions, audio systems, computers, and other consumer electronic devices to converge any stored multimedia content (such as audio or video streams) over a 100Mb Ethernet environment. HDBaseT technology also supports Ethernet backup mode, which integrates HDBaseT devices with Ethernet-only infrastructure configurations, allowing devices to transmit in environments that only require Ethernet connectivity.

HDBaseT can simultaneously transmit a variety of control signals for different commands, such as consumer control channel (CEC), RS-232 communication interface, Universal Serial Bus (USB), infrared, and network association (IP) control signals. 5. Power supply
In the application of HDBaseT technology, 100W DC power supply can also be provided through Ethernet CAT5e/6 ordinary network cable. Advantages of HDBAST:

The elements that gave rise to HDBaseT are roughly as follows:
1. The transmission distance of HDMI cable is only about 5 meters, which greatly limits the use range of high-definition equipment, while the transmission distance of HDBaseT can reach 100 meters.
2. HDMI cables are expensive, and HDBaseT uses cheap and readily available CAT5/6 Ethernet cables as the transmission medium.
3. HDMI is a closed standard, and manufacturers need to pay a certain license fee to use the HDMI interface, while HDBaseT is an open standard and does not need to pay additional fees.
4. The HDBaseT standard currently supports a maximum transmission rate of 20Gb/s, which is 4 times the maximum transmission rate of 5Gb/s for HDMI, and can fully meet all uncompressed 1080p or clearer 4K x 2K video transmission.
